Push ups if performed in an adequate number of repetitions can help stimulate the production of growth hormone which boosts up muscle growth. This is one of the hidden secrets why push ups are quite effective in increasing your muscles. If you want to have a better muscle build especially on your chest, biceps, back and other upper body muscles then it would be good if you can do a lot of repetitions a day and complete a goal of up to 1000 push ups on the push up stand. Though push ups may seem a bit hard and painful compared to bench presses, you will eventually be surprised on how effective it is.

When doing push ups on the push up stand or any other exercises in particular, it is very important to have a proper form when doing them. The push up form can greatly benefit the abdominal muscles. As your lower back muscles work to give you a good balance when doing push ups, your abdominal muscles are usually stretched and get worked out. Your quadriceps can also be enhanced with a proper push up form while your legs are having a light workout themselves. Always maintain the proper form when doing exercises in order to help you prevent injuries and muscle strains.

I firmly believe that push ups are by far one of the most effective exercises to improve and strengthen your upper body muscles especially the biceps. With the help of the push up stand, doing push ups could offer you benefits of weight lifting, cardio and stretching exercises at the same time. If you are a beginner, doing push ups may seem a bit difficult since your muscles are not used to doing it before. So my advice would be, if you want to have amazing biceps and upper body muscles, do push ups daily and don’t quit easily once you’ve started it.

Push ups are considered a great form of upper body exercise that can effectively help in building up your upper body muscles. They enhance your range of motion in the upper body and your overall endurance and strength. Most people who step up into a workout regimen usually start with push ups as they want to build up their biceps first. Most experts suggest that you do push ups on the push up stand for a more intensified workout and aside from that, the use of the push up stands helps you prevent pain on your wrist because of directly placing your hand flat on the floor in the conventional push up.

The push up stands can greatly benefit your workout regimen especially when doing push ups. It is designed to perfectly provide stability while in use. It’s like two arched bars that are formed to fit your hands’ grip. Instead of lying directly on the floor with your palms, you will be holding on the bars firmly, in such a way you can minimize the strain on your wrists. There are many types of push up stands out in the market that you could choose from. Just make sure that the push up stands that you will be buying is durable and has a grip to allow your hands to securely hold on to the bars.

This is a variation of a crossfit workout that came out on May 26, 2010. The standard workout calls for:
60 second L-sit (accumulated)
Good morning 30 reps
60 Sit ups with an abmat or rolled up towel
30 back extensions
Since I don’t have any way to do good mornings or back extensions, I substituted these with stiff legged deadlifts using a 20 kilo kettlebell.
This is a great home workout that can be done in the privacy of your own home. Unfortunately, I was babysitting my lady friend’s puppy and she took quite an interest in the routines!
Fortunately for me, the puppy added a little bit of extra resistance during the workout. As a side note, anyone considering getting a puppy should clear their schedule for at least two months and be prepared to clean up copious amounts of poo and pee.
Anyway, the workout is great and I highly recommend it, especially if you’re a crossfit fan and enjoy doing different workouts on a daily basis.
More to come!
Duration : 0:1:58
