i would be working probably two muscle groups with 4-6 exercises each.. is that too much with an hour of crossfit training also?
If your going to add anything in, look at the CrossFit website and order the news letter, there is a whole thing on supplementing your CF WOD with Olympic Lifts on top of the WOD. Also, there is CF Endurance for those who like to do more running.

I’m fairly skinny at 5’11", 155 lbs. I’m trying to put on a little weight and get jacked. I read about Jason Statham’s workout that follows the same principles as the Crossfit workout. It says he used it and dropped 17 lbs, but he also dieted and did lots of cardio. If I use his high intensity training, take protein, and eat a lot of calories, will I actually get bigger and ripped? I don’t want to simply get cut.
I just started doing Crossfit a week ago and I can already see the difference. Im not really losing weight on the scale…staying about the same but am definitely getting bigger and stronger. I am getting cut but I can definitely tell my muscles are getting bigger. The main thing I like is that I feel like I can control all my muscles in my body now. I weight lifted for years and I have never felt this good since doing Crossfit. I just got done with a workout about 40 minutes ago and it was extremely tough but well worth it. Make sure you are mentally prepared to go through the workouts because that is over half the battle. Goodluck and I strongly recommend you try it out!

I do the crossfit workout designed for the Canadian Infantry (Austere AOFP). If you know about crossfit but not this, it’s pretty similar to the normal WODs, but with less powerlifting and more running. It’s a great workout and I come out with my legs dead half the time, but my 3-mile run time just keeps slipping. I would like to do something to improve my run without giving up the crossift. Any suggestions?
I’d have to look at your schedule, but if you’re supplementing the regular Crossfit type WOD’s with extra running, you’re likely under-recovering (overtraining, whatever you like to call it).
Me personally, I can barely keep a 3-on, 1-off, 2-on, 1-off schedule when I’m at my best.
Also, if you’ve been doing it for a while, and haven’t been taking 3 weeks on, 1 week half intensity, you’re likely under-recovered. You should be looking like this:
3 weeks on
1 week half intensity
3 weeks on
1 week half intensity
3 weeks on
1 week half intensity
3 weeks on
1 week completely off (light LIGHT ***LIGHT*** activity at best)
Then repeat.
Just remember, for most people, Crossfit is completely different from anything we’ve ever done before. But, the workout doesn’t make you stronger, the recovery after the workout makes you stronger/faster/better.

When researching for what the crossfit diet is online, it is easy to become confused.
Most particularly, this is because of the CrossFit training program of course, and trying to ascertain whether the dietary system is linked to this, or is a standalone diet.

Without being able to find sufficient proof that it is a standalone diet however, it is mindful of the training program, and how to optimize its effectiveness that is worthy of study and discussion.
In essence, the crossfit diet that seems to recommended, is very much along the lines of the established Paleo Diet, which focuses on certain food groups that humans have become adapted to eating throughout their evolution.
Essentially, it gives credence to food groups available through the natural order of things; meat, fish and seafood, fruits and vegetables, and nuts and pulses. It is believed that by sticking to these natural ingredients, a healthier lifestyle can be achieved and maintained.
Its teachings are sound of course; as the diet significantly reduces our exposure to manufactured ingredients, and relies on natural sources of salts, sugars and fats to give flavor and taste to our foods.
However, in today’s modern society of course, sticking to a diet of such structure and rigidness requires a lot of determination and commitment.
However, for those already working with the crossfit training program, this should not be so much of a problem of course’ dedication and commitment are somewhat standard operating procedures for such people!
However, the dietary program itself can help many more areas of society than those wishing to boost their fitness levels of course.
Working with the crossfit diet ethos in place, people can reasonably expect to feel healthier, look healthier and have more energy. Cutting down on manufactured products will have this effect, whilst boosting yourself with lean meats and healthy fats will have a dramatic effect.
