Anyone know of any crossfit friendly gyms in the Charlotte, NC area?
I am leaving for the USAF in the fall and training for special ops so I am doing crossfit pretty heavily right now. Planet Fitness was the only gym in the area offering cheap month to month contract so I went with them. Crossfit doesn’t involve heavy weights but do require a lot of the olympic style lifts. Planet Fitness does not allow the full body movements like presses and jerks. Ha, they made that clear today during one of my workouts. I’ve been with Peak but they seem to be kind of the same way. Any ideas for a relatively cheap month to month membership in Charlotte, NC?
Thanks, Peak didn’t close down but definitely stopped a lot of their planned openings. I actually had a membership with them in another city and they completely stopped production on one of their facilities and i lost a lot of money. That is why I do not want to work out there. Lifestyle sounds good but having that "family" in their tagline might make them like a Planet Fitness. Don’t these gyms know that you need compound fitness to really get fit! Guess I will sit still in a little machine and move my arms back and forth like a good boy.
Check with Lifestyle Family Fitness. I used to be a system engineer for them at their corporate office in St. Petersburg. I actually setup the computers and networks at the 2 locations in Charlotte. You have one in Matthews and one up North on University City Blvd. www.lff.com. No contracts. You also get a 4 week money back guarantee.
I believe Peak actually closed down as I heard from some of my old friends that I worked with that LFF bought their memberships.
