Crossfit rules – trust me – I did alot of stuff and Crossfit by far makes me work harder than the rest! Its fun too! I love the benchmarks.

bodybuilders probably won’t have as healthy hearts, the most recent crossfit games champion mikko salo has a resting heart rate of 31

Man so many …
Man so many ignorant people talk bad about Crossfit workouts. They need to be educated and should attempt to do one of the WOD”s before they talk trash. Its all about being fit not just looking muscular.

they’re called …
they’re called kipping pull ups, they actually have perfect form on these, the point of them is to work the whole posterior chain along with the upper body, the regular deadhang pull ups only work upperbody, plus they do not want to go slow they do the workout for time

Weird chinups why …
Weird chinups why not do them slower with perfect form instead?

I will say that I …
I will say that I hate kipping pull ups because they look ridiculous, but they do actually have a point, especially if you reach muscle failure on dead hang pull ups

The kipping pullup …
The kipping pullup is an overall athleticism exercise, not just a bodyweight bicep curl. It allows for a faster cycle time, and therefore more power output ((force*distance)/time) And I’ve done thousands of them over the last 2 years(staring at age 39, with no athletic experience whatsoever) and no shoulder damage. And yes, I can do 16 dead hang pullups in a row as well. A little education doesn’t hurt, folks.

I agree and …
I agree and disagree. I do both strength training and crossfit and I love strict dead hang pull ups. In that sense the kipping pull ups you see here the way alot of people do them (over extended and extreme) is more dangerous than beneficial. If you meet dead hangs with a little kicking you get just as good cardio. Thing about kipping is you launch yourself up and since you cant force gravity to work anysooner your basically air bound for fraction of a second.totally wasting part of the rep.

Thats a huge …
Thats a huge generalization. Serious health problems are only prevelant in competitive bodybuilders who take massive amounts of drugs, eat incredible amounts of saturated fats, and crash diet. Youll find most recreational bodybuilders are just as healthy as any other athlete.

She is very fast …
She is very fast and in really good cardio shape. Strong and healthy heart unlike bodybuilders with failing kidneys, shot livers, and horrible plaque build-up in their arteries by the young age of 40. But, hey, they’ve got big biceps.

The God of all …
The God of all excercise has spoken… we all need to stop doing pullups now
March 13th, 2010 at 9:12 am
Doing pullups like …
Doing pullups like that isn’t doing anything for you, sorry but all you’re doing is damaging your shoulders.
